Statement of Purpose:

Pi Mu Epsilon is a non-secret organization whose purpose is the promotion of scholarly activity in mathematics among students in academic
institutions, and among the staffs of qualified non-academic institutions. It aims to do this by:

  1. electing members on an honorary basis according to their proficiency in mathematics,
  2. by engaging in activities designed to promote the mathematical and scholarly development of its members,
  3. by taking any other measures which will further the purpose above stated.

    Eligibility for Membership:
                  Anyone meeting one of the three requirements below may be elected for membership--
     
      1. Be an undergraduate student who has completed at least two years of college mathematics with honors (at least B average).
      2. Be a sophomore majoring or intending to major in mathematics, having completed at least four quarters of college mathematics and having achieved a 4.0 GPA in all mathematics courses.
      3. Be a member of faculty in mathematics or another related subject
