  2. Compare/contrast languages seen thus far with each other in terms of data types, arithmetic operators, allocation schemes, possibility of recursion, etc.
  3. Interpret (i.e. "run" in your mind) a program (-segment) given in a language.

(Some new things to think about!)

  4. Figure out what a LISP function does with specific input.
  5. Determine references environments of programs (as in the Homework Example).
  6. Answer questions about basic COBOL program structures or "data structures."
  7. Answer questions of what the output looks like based on certain COBOL "pic" clauses and input values moved in and out.
  8. Translate code from C++ into COBOL (or vice versa).
  9. Answer questions about fundamental OOP concepts
  10. Response to questions about syntax similarities versus context differences in "related" languages.
  11. Answer general questions as to "context" issues related to non-scientific based languages (e.g., SNOBOL, Icon).
DISCLAIMER: The above list is NOT exclusive. There may be topics on the test NOT listed above. There may be topics above not on the test.

NOTE: You might also want to consult the "DEFINITION STUDY PAGE FOR MATH 169 FINAL" by Anees Khatri found in the Class Notes right before the INDEX pages. HOWEVER, remember that that study page has not been proof-read and double-checked for accuracy.
